High Temperature Pipe Insulation is manufactured from EPDM rubber foam and is primarily used as lagging in outdoor environments due to the materials resistance to ageing, ultraviolet light (UV) and weathering. It provides excellent resistance to chemical agents, offers low thermal conductivity and is free of fibre dust. HT/Armaflex® is also resistant to temperatures up to +150°C and is an ideal option for insulating external hot gas lines, vessels and ducts, as well as solar heating pipework. It is designed to reduce energy consumption and helps to prevent pipework from bursting in cold winter months.
In comparison to nitrile-based foams, HT/Armaflex® pipe insulation is better suited to external environments due to its resistance to UV radiation. It does not need painting or covering to protect it from the elements and is not susceptible to cracking or crumbling over prolonged periods. The elastomeric compound is also FM approved and offers a Class 1 flammability rating in accordance with BS 476 Part 7.
