The air admittance valve should be used in above ground drainage systems to allow the free entry of air into the sanitary pipework without the escape of foul gases into the building.
When installed onto sanitary work conforming to BS EN 12056, the Floplast air admittance valve not only prevents the loss of water from the trap seals due to induced siphonage, it also provides indicators to a drain blockage and can be used as a secondary rodding point.
