Vented soffit boards are used as an alternative to other methods of roof ventilation to ensure that there is an adequate flow of air through the roof space. This alleviates any condensation build up which if untreated can lead to damage to the roof timbers and walls in the rooms below the eaves.
The size of the vents in the board is small enough to prevent wasp and bee ingress into the roof. The total amount of ventilation is equivalent to a 10mm continuous gap, which satisfies building regulations for roofs of a 30 degree pitch and over provided there are no rooms constructed in the roof space.
Vented soffits are available in a range of sizes between 150mm and 440mm.
